Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Ensure your SteamVR setup is working:
- Put on your Valve Index or HTC Vive headset and ensure it’s connected to your PC and running SteamVR.
2. Start Metro Awakening and reproduce the bug/issue:
- Launch Metro Awakening and navigate to the point where you can reproduce the issue.
3. Start screen recording with Built-in Windows or Third-Party Software:
- You can use different tools to record your SteamVR gameplay:
Option 1: Windows 10/11 Game Bar
- Press Windows + G to open the Game Bar.
- Click on the Record button or press Windows + Alt + R to start recording.
- Reproduce the bug while the recording is active.
Option 2: OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software)
- Open OBS Studio (if not installed, it’s a free download).
- Set up a new Display Capture or Game Capture for SteamVR.
- Start recording by pressing the Start Recording button in OBS.
- Reproduce the bug in-game while recording is active.
4. Stop recording:
- Game Bar: Press Windows + Alt + R again or open the Game Bar and click the Stop Recording button.
- OBS Studio: Press Stop Recording in OBS.
5. Review the video:
- For Game Bar recordings, go to the Captures folder (usually found in Videos > Captures).
- For OBS recordings, navigate to the folder you designated for saved videos in OBS settings.
- Open the video and review it to ensure the bug/issue is visible.
Notes:
- Make the bug/issue clear: Ensure the bug/issue is visible in the video, and provide a brief description of the bug/issue. Also, please write down the minute/second where the bug/issue is visible.
- Be mindful of file size: Please pay attention to the size of the video. If the file size of the attachment is bigger than 50MB you can compress the video using video editing software or online compression tools if the file size is too large you can upload the file to a drop box etc. If you need assistance with this, please contact our support team.
